Custom built for Khn de Poitrine

At Light Speed

From the first concept sketch on April 20 to the completed guitar on May 28, just 38 days elapsed. For a fully custom instrument of this complexity, that's an extraordinary achievement. Designing a one-of-a-kind model, refining the concept with the artist, engineering custom components, building prototypes, and handcrafting the final instrument would normally take months.

A Truly One-of-a-Kind Instrument

Nothing about this guitar came from an existing catalogue model. The body, dual necks, electronics, hardware, and even the custom hardshell case were conceived and built exclusively for this project, resulting in an instrument unlike anything else.

While this is not the first double-neck microtonal guitar/bass ever created, it is Godin Guitars' interpretation of what such an instrument can be. Working closely with Angine de Poitrine, our goal was to elevate the concept into a truly professional-grade instrument—one that delivers exceptional playability, reliability, craftsmanship, and tone while meeting the demanding requirements of a touring musician.

Built Together

Every detail was developed through close collaboration between Simon and Angine de Poitrine. From the overall concept to the pickguard, finishes, graphics, and visual details, each element evolved through an ongoing creative exchange until it perfectly reflected the artist's vision.

Purpose-Built Components

Every custom part served a purpose. Quarter-tone frets, dice control knobs, phosphorescent position markers, and a custom-built case made in Quebec were all specially designed to meet the unique creative and performance requirements of the instrument.

Handcrafted at Godin

From the very first sketch to the final setup, every stage of the build took place in the Godin workshops. The body, both necks, electronics, finish, and countless custom details were designed and handcrafted specifically for Angine de Poitrine. The result is a unique, professional-quality instrument that reflects both the artist's vision and Godin's commitment to innovative design, precision craftsmanship, and uncompromising performance.
