The Acousitc Solutions ASG-8 is a newly redesigned acoustic amplifier and it was developed with the performing singer-songwriter and acoustic musician in mind. What makes this amplifier really special is that it was designed to sound pristinely clean with a relatively flat yet very natural response, which is ideal for various acoustic instruments as well as for clear and dynamic vocals. The ASG-8 also provides a convenient AUX input to play backing tracks from your smartphone or laptop, which can also be played though the easy Bluetooth connectivity of the amp. The ASG-8 is light and portable, but it still packs a lot of punch and power in a compact cabinet with 120 Watts of power and includes an 8” Woofer and a 1” Tweeter.

  1. I’ve been a singer-songwriter and particular-about-equipment guitarist for a few decades [Taylor, Trace Elliot, EV, etc]. While I appreciate other acoustic combo amps, this Godin ASG-8 is well designed and made! The 8″ woofer can get as low as an acoustic guitarist needs [and then some] while the 1″ tweeter, especially with the resonance effect dialed in a bit, produces very pleasant harmonics and sonic sparkle! There are enough tweaking knobs to dial in just the right amount of EQ. The unit feels sturdy and is terrificly small, and after my first 2-hour gig, feels cool to the touch [amp and power board not working too hard]. It seems other manufacturers have a skosh more power for the advertised watts consumed versus output dB levels, however this amp has a pleasing and refined sound [I’ve used other manufacturers acoustic combos which sound louder, but more brash in comparison]. I was concerned by the lack of an output graphic EQ [eg: 7-band on my Trace Elliot], however, between the parametric EQ knobs plus the resonance effect, no graphic EQ is needed. One area of concern is the ‘effects loop’ which seems to alter the output EQ when engaged, and makes the output signal sound low- to mid-chunky. Weird. [Obviously not ‘True Bypass’] This is not a problem for the Reverb effect, but seems a problem for the dedicated ‘Echo, Chorus, etc’ effect/knob [of which I don’t use, so all good with me here]. Compared to all other combo amps I’ve used and sampled, this is my new favorite as it’s a good all-rounder with very well thought-out design elements, lightweight, seemingly tough, and terrific sound and utility!
