Paul Salyers –
I have owned this guitar for a few weeks now (purchased through Long and McQuade) and have been playing it consistently. I typically play steel string acoustic and mandolin, but I wanted a nylon string for a different feel to add to my playing time. I also needed an instrument that is easier on the hands and my left elbow as I suffer from recurrent tendonitis. I like the radiused fretboard and slimmer neck profile for this reason, too. The sound and sustain are more than I expected for this price point, and intonation is very good up the neck. I got the Clasica II version as there is a chance I may end up performing a bit with it. The electronics paired with my Bix acoustic pre-amp sound perfect straight into a PA. The Presentation is a well finished guitar with beautiful tone woods (cedar top and rosewood back and sides), I can’t find any real finish flaws on it, and the semi-gloss finish is perfect, my preference over high gloss. Now I’m delving more into different kinds of music outside of the usual bluegrass and Canadian/Americana styles I play with others, which helps my skills and repertoire for sure. The only sad part is I had to sell my Godin Progression Plus to get this guitar… but hopefully the new owner will use it more than I have of late, given my electric guitar days seem well behind me now.
