You can’t live without your passive electric bass sound, but long to experiment and perform with acoustic bass sounds? If so, the Godin RG-4 Ultra is the instrument you need! The Godin RG-4 Ultra Bass in Trans White is the ultimate in versatility. You get two bass systems in the same instrument, which can be mixed together thanks to Godin’s unique electronics. On one hand, you have a passive system with two Seymour Duncan noiseless magnetic pickups driven by a volume control, a tone control and a four-way switch. On the other hand, you have an active system with acoustic pickup, mated to an LR Baggs Custom preamp, as used in our Godin A4 basses. With the RG-4 you can now go from a classic passive-electric bass sound, to an acoustic bass sound, in an instant! Also, thanks to the RG-4’s dual jack output, you can split the signals out to two separate amplifiers, or mix them together to create amazing — and original — bass textures. Godin designed the RG-4 Ultra to be simple, solid and efficient. The chambered Basswood body is mounted on a Silver Leaf Maple top, making this instrument light and easy to play for those long gigs. The Maple neck features a Rosewood fingerboard and the bridge is Ebony. The semi-gloss Translucent White finish is the perfect nod to both tradition and modernity.
