A jack-of-all-trades and master of all of them, the xtSA’s incredible sound power begins with three distinct voices: electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and synth. The xtSA delivers big-time electric sounds via the Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration and thanks to a special 5-way switch setup, extra meaty humbucker tones co-exist with glassy split-coil sounds in the second and forth positions. Turn down the electric output and raise the volume on the LR Baggs transducer saddles and the xtSA becomes an incredibly authentic-sounding ‘acoustic’ guitar. The acoustic voice of the xtSA is enhanced by an onboard preamp with a three-way graphic EQ. The two outputs are set up so that the electric and acoustic voices can be blended while using a single patch cord or at the amp/mixer via both outputs. Also, the xtSA’s synth tracking, which simply put, is the best in the business. As with all of Godin synth-ready instruments, a built-in 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland™ GR-Series synths as well as most other 13-pin devices. All of this sound power would be a lot less interesting if the guitar didn’t feel great but the xtSA sure does, thanks to the same 25½” scale and mahogany neck used on the Godin LGX-SA flagship guitar. The Richlite® fingerboard is shaped with Godin’s ergocut technique and equipped with medium jumbo frets. The body is made of a silver leaf maple center with poplar wings and is topped with a Premium grade veneer of highly figured Koa.

Having owned this guitar for 4 years or so I can honestly say that this guitar plays so nice that it is my favorite amongst many others I own. I LOVE everything about it, it’s versatility, it’s quality, all it’s sounds and the feel. Being a GR-55 owner I can attest to the beautiful tracking making it an essential part of my playing styles. Being in a cover band that played many styles of rock, it is the best tool in my arsenal. I have the Koa model and love it! I could see myself upgrading to the LGXT next.

the xtSA has been my go-to guitar since 2014. Using a Bagg’s Venue DI preamp, I turn heads with my acoustic sound. The electric tones are equally outstanding with the HSH pickup configuration. The neck is wonderful, and the machine heads tune precisely while being a time saver – no more multiple string wraps. I’ve been performing for over 50 years, and this is by far my favorite instrument of all time. Thank you.
