The Godin 5th Avenue brings you back to a time when the archtop acoustic guitar reigned supreme. With the soul of a 1950s archtop, the 5th Avenue is a true vintage spirit of yesterday with today’s level of modern playability. With more projection & volume in the low/mids than traditional acoustic archtop guitars, the dynamically rich tone of the 5th Avenue makes this sophisticated instrument a dream to play but not a nightmare on your wallet. The Godin 5th Avenue now makes the dream of owning an affordable North American archtop a reality! From Alt-Country, Delta Blues, Slide, Jazz to Rock, the 5th Avenue can really deliver both acoustically and electrically. The Godin Kingpin P90 single-coil pickup delivers all that classic vintage tone with presence, clarity, and a little attitude thrown in for good measure! Made from Canadian Wild Cherry, the body of the 5th Avenue features a molded arched top and back; as well as an adjustable bridge, classic F-holes, contoured high-gloss headstock, floating pickguard, and cream binding. Also, the rustic beauty of its Custom Polished Finish creates a gorgeous satin sheen reminiscent of the 19th century.

  1. Jon Hines

My standard go to Godin for a while, I love the look and feel of this guitar and combined with the p90 its a great jazz / blues style guitar. Something that will give you a cool tone and cut through the mix. Highly recommend, great guitar!

  2. Tom

I was a sucker for the looks, now that I have it, I’m am obsessed with the sound and feel! This is the “woodiest” sounding guitar I own, both acoustically and electrically, and I love it. The neck feels like it was made for my hand, the p90 was definitely designed for my ear. Fit and finish is astounding. An amazing value!

  3. Bruce

This is one great guitar. Much more versatile than I could ever have imagined as I was expecting a pure jazz box. But it smokes for just about anything, including even bluegrass picking, if you can believe it. I usually play it acoustically since I live in a small apartment, and I get plenty of sound that way for my tastes, but I do plug it in once in awhile just to let it sing amplified. Oh, did I mention that it looks like a million bucks? Beautiful unique look. All in all you can’t go wrong with this baby. Fantastic guitar for the money!

  4. Kerri Corser

I bought this for the archtop and back, to hear that rich sound produced by such instruments. However, it’s impeccable quality, and appearance, hooked me, as soon as I saw the wild cherry back. The cherry reminds me of my late mothers dining room table that my family ate every meal on. That was it fir me, lol. This instrument is such high quality, the neck finished so perfectly, my goodness! Spend the money!!! It feels like an instrument costing thousands more.
Thank you Godin! You make a good guitar eh? Eh…

  5. Wes Puckett

I was able to find a Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin in natural finish. What a beaut!

This guitar is too good to be true. She’s solid wood (Cherry?), one piece maple neck, quality tuners, Canadian made, rosewood fretboard, beautiful finish & fitment, near perfect set-up, short scale with a nice medium neck profile. And the P90 just soars! I’m not sure what the bridge is made of (ebony?) but it it’s great tonal conduit.

Plus, I love the light weight of hollow-bodies.

But what I love most is the simplicity of this instrument. If you’re looking for a bunch in inlays, gold hardware, max-gloss frilly paint jobs then go spend three or four times more for a guitar that probably sounds half as good.

FWIW, I’m a finger picker (never use a pick) and I run 11’s (nickel) on this guitar with a wound G. That’s a good starting point on this model if you have a lighter touch.

What a nice guitar, it looks good, it plays good, it sounds good. I love the simplicity and old school vibe. The neck is fantastic, the fret edge work is so smooth, so easy to play, your hand just glides over this thing, Love the P-90, rich and lush, as good as any you’ll hear., This is pure guitar, no glitz, just a beautiful build and finish, I can’t put it down 😉
