Nombreux sont les musiciens qui rêvent de profiter du son chaleureux des cordes nylon tout en conservant leurs habitudes de jeu développées sur guitare électrique. La Godin G-Tour répond parfaitement à cette attente. Compacte et confortable, cette guitare à caisse creuse est équipée d’un micro sous-sillet relié à un préampli EPM Q-Discrete, contrôlé par un bouton de volume et un bouton de tonalité. Brancher et jouer devient un jeu d’enfant !

Forte de notre expertise dans la lutherie, nous avons conçu la G-Tour avec un soin particulier : choix des barrages, sélection des bois et travail acoustique assurent une projection sonore remarquable. Malgré son architecture singulière, aucun compromis n’a été fait : la caisse et le manche sont en érable, tetis que la touche et le chevalet sont en palissetre.

Le manche, la largeur au sillet de 1,65’’ et le profil du corps offrent un confort de jeu optimal, facilitant les transitions entre instruments sur scène. Les barrages en éventail et la table d’harmonie en cèdre procurent une excellente résonance acoustique, tout en réduisant l’effet Larsen au strict minimum.

First, I have to say that I like this guitar very much.
It sounds great plugged in to my Fishman loudbox amp. The body and. Light weight are extremely comfortable. I like that the Lowe bout width is 12.5 inches. All of the multiacs were about 14”, which just wasn’t as comfortable for me. I’m 5’6” and have some wear and tear in my shoulder, so the smaller bout width makes a HUGE difference for me.

So why four stars?
1. Godin only offers this guitar with a 1.65 nut width. I think that it would be much more versatile if they offered a couple different nut widths. A 1.8 would be my preference.

I am trying to figure out if the guitar is compatible with standard Fender stratacaster necks, and Godin customer service did not respond to that part of my question. They quickly answered me with a terse, one sentence response that they don’t have other Godin necks that will fit the G tour and that no other nut widths are available.

Fortunately, I have found a local luthier who has necks that we can try out to see if the neck slot works for fender strat necks.

2. Godin does not tell bout widths for this guitar on the specs sheet. It took me a ridiculous amount of time and effort to find the bout width prior to taking the plunge and buying.

Note: my 4 stars is not based on customer service at all, it’s based on the narrow nut width the fact that I am going to have to adapt a custom neck to make the guitar have the nut width I desire.
I think it would be great if Godin would provide a solution, such as nut width options at the time of purchase.
