About | Godin Guitars

Our Story

Robert Godin began making guitars in rural Quebec out of a passion for music and craftsmanship. His dedication to quality and ingenuity has allowed Godin to become one of North America’s largest guitar manufacturers. We provide players all around the world with guitars that are unique, diverse, and effortlessly enjoyable.

46 years later, that same passion drives the next generation of Godin Guitars by Robert’s two sons, Simon and Patrick. Our guitars continue to evolve and shake up the industry through modern designs, thoughtful refinement and a commitment to handwork.

There are six brands under the Godin family: Seagull, Simon & Patrick, Norman, LaPatrie and Art & Lutherie, and Godin. We are also the manufacturer of the revolutionary TRIC case which provides a new level of guitar protection, unparalleled in the industry today.

From Forest to Stage

Godin guitars are unique because from forest to stage, they are North American. The necks and bodies are all made in our original location in La Patrie, Quebec. Godin Guitars are then assembled in our Quebec and New Hampshire factories. Keeping the process close to home means our Godin experts and designers can ensure the highest quality with a personal touch. From fretting to sanding, there is more handwork in Godin guitars than you will find in most custom shops. When you buy a guitar from any of our brands, you are supporting a Canadian, family owned company.

Our Goal

We strive to honour the finest traditions of lutherie while continually refining our products through innovative design.

Our goal is to consistently provide top-quality guitars which make it easy for any musician to learn, develop, and most importantly enjoy their musical abilities.

Whether you are simply strumming on your front porch, or playing a sold-out show, our guitars will deliver a rich, resonant and unparalleled sound in any setting.
